Brother of Dunlop, George and Leslie Hunter

, known as Baden, was born 19 May 1900 at Oakbank, Fairlie, to parents William James Dunlop Hunter, a shoemaker and Elizabeth McAdam Webster (who married in Largs on 15 Mar 1889).  He died of pneumonia on 04 Mar 1932 in Knightswood Hospital, Glasgow (aged 31, baker, married, of 37 Earl Street, Glasgow)   

He married Elizabeth Alexander Smith in Glasgow in 1921.  

He was a member of Fairlie Boy Scouts from its formation in 1912; noted in the Scout log-book in 1916 as aged 14½, a message boy, nickname “Bady”.  

In the 1901 Census, Baden, aged 10m, is living Oak Bank, Fairlie, with parents Wm. JG Hunter (34, shoemaker, b. England) and wife Eliz. Mca. Hunter (30, b. England) and siblings Geo W (5, b. Fairlie), Eliz P (4, b. Fairlie) and Dunlop (2, b. Fairlie)  

In the 1911 Census, aged 10, he is living Oakbank, Fairlie with parents Dunlop (44, bootmaker) and Elizabeth (40, married 22 years, 13 children/12 living) and siblings George (15), Elizabeth (14), Dunlop (12), Jessie (9), Thomas (8), Harry (6), David (5), Arthur (3), David (1)
